Sony has announced that the Xperia 5 V smartphone will be released in Japan on September 1st. It is also expected to be released in other markets. The North American variant of the device has been spotted on Geekbench, revealing its performance and some key specifications.

According to Geekbench test results, the Xperia 5 V (XQ-DE54) will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with a base clock of 2.02GHz and a boost clock of 3.19GHz. The Geekbench listing shows that the variant has 8GB of RAM and runs Android 13. It scored 1,453 in the single-core test and 4,556 in the multi-core test. No other information is available from the listing.

Leaked video teaser

The recently leaked video teaser reveals more details about the smartphone. It shows that the device will have a boxy design and a pill-shaped camera module. There will be two rear cameras with Zeiss T* coated lenses.

Other expected features

The device is also expected to have a 3.5mm audio jack and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It will support 33W fast charging, according to the 3C certification listing. There are also rumors that the smartphone will have up to 16GB of RAM. More details will be revealed at the September 1st launch event, so stay tuned.
